David Gates menulis lagu ini setelah menonton film Breakfast at Tiffany's, yang dibintangi oleh Audrey Hepburn. Lagu ini sendiri tidak ada hubungannya dengan film itu, tapi suasana film membawanya untuk menulisnya.

Gates mengatakan: "Saya hampir tidak pernah menulis lagu tentang 'nama', tapi saya sangat suka nama itu dan bagaimana ia mengalir dalam melodi. Mungkin ini merupakan melodi terbaik yang pernah aku tulis."

Lagu ini dirilis pada tahun 1972 dalam album Guitar Man.
